Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 automobiles have been marked with what appears to be human blood in the German city of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were notified late on Wednesday, when a man discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been covered with a reddish fluid.
The liquid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.
Police then found numerous other marked cars and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations prohibiting the public display of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement state early analysis show the fluid was probably blood from a person.
"At present there remains no lead as to its source; investigators are presently not aware of any physical harm in association with the incident," they commented.
Local authorities stated they were attempting "to resolve the case" and have requested to the residents for details.
A high-ranking official stated the attack made him without words and required to be resolved rapidly.
"This incident strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the wounds of the extremist attack half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the death of nine victims by a gunman focusing on individuals of foreign heritage in 2020.
